The term "critical facilities" is used to include all man-made structures or other improvements which because of their function, size, service area, or uniqueness have the potential to cause serious bodily harm, extensive property damage, or disruption of vital socioeconomic activities if they are destroyed, damaged, or if their services are repeatedly interrupted. The facilities in this coverage are "critical" regardless of their exposure to hazardous events because of their special function, size, service area, or uniqueness. This point coverage shows the location of all "critical facilities" in Okaloosa County that were identified by Emergency Management. Okaloosa County has based their critical facilities coverage to include the following criteria: Essential Service Facilities, Communications Networks, Water supply systems/facilities, Utilities, transportation networks and building and other structures that represent a substantial hazard to human life in the event of a failure. |
