Any changes to Eglin parks and recreation areas including, Eglin AFB East Pass Beach Area, Eglin AFB Beach Park, Eglin AFB Princess Beach, Eglin AFB Matterhorn Beach, Eglin AFB Timberlake Recreation Area, and Eglin AFB White Point Recreation Area must be approved by GIS Manager. The names of these recreation areas were derived from Eglin AFB sources including Jackson Guard (https://eglin.isportsman.net/)nand Eglin Life (https://www.eglinlife.com/96/index.html). The polygon boundary of these recreation areas are an estimate and do not represent the actual boundary of these recreation areas. For that reason, the polygon boundary shading should been removed from those recreation areas (with the exception of White Point) within all maps made unless directed otherwise by the GIS Manager. In addition, if these recreation areas are being labeled on a map, a label should be placed regarding access to these areas. The access note is found in the "Description" field of the Park point layer. The field does not exist in the Park polygon layer at this time. Higher level county administration has decided to remove the Eglin AFB East Pass Beach Area completely from all maps. These instructions may be on a case-by-case basis moving forward, so verify with the GIS Manager how to include these Eglin AFB Recreation Areas on a map.
